When I talked with my colleague about ideas to support adults as we go back to school next week, she called it self-compassion and that notion stuck with me. Stress will be heightened balancing work and home life, and I know I don’t always practice self-care when I need to most. So, creating this with her reminded me that these simple strategies can be powerful to recenter ourselves when so much lately seems out of our control.
UPDATE: I also included a 1-10 scale as mentioned in a comment here...loved the idea to check in on readiness to dive back into learning (1-I am still feeling effects and it’s hard to focus, 10-I can focus and feel ready to get back to school).
Since Algebra 2 has studied so many functions and will soon move on to another (exponentials), I wanted a way to have students compare and contrast graphs. When I started building in Desmos it got a bit cluttered, until I found this @desmosinc build in a collection by Andy Malbouef and recreated it for our functions. I loved the idea of sentence stems he included and then I also added in a word bank for additional support.
